Bike Trip Planning, Heritage Sites, and Bicycle Safety Checks
Join Rivers of Steel for an evening workshop focused on how to plan a 1-2 day trip along the Great Allegheny Passage. The session will include an overview of the trail and ideas for casual day trips and overnights with opportunities to enjoy some of the region’s cultural and historic sites. Takeaways include materials on specific trip ideas, historic “gems” on other trail systems, and a list of trip planning resources. We’ll also be offering tours of the historic Pump House, site of the 1892 Battle of Homestead, and will have a bike mechanic on hand to offer bicycle safety checks. This workshop will be held rain or shine inside the historic Pump House.
