Historical Plaque Dedication at the Pump House, April 21, 2016


BHF, in partnership with Steel Valley School District, hosted an afternoon program commemorating the legendary resistance of Homestead steelworkers and townspeople against their 1892 lockout from the Carnegie Steel Works — known in history books as the “Battle of Homestead” — on Thursday, April 21, 2016.

The program featured music and readings by students from Steel Valley High School, directed by actor David Conrad (“The Ghost Whisperer,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”). Educators, union leaders, and elected officials also spoke.  Watch the whole video here:
