Willa Cather, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for literature, lived in Pittsburgh for ten years, working as a teacher as well as a journalist and editor. “The Pittsburgh Stories of Willa Cather”, edited by Battle of Homestead Foundation board member, the late Peter Oresick, were published by CMU press. She was also a friend of journalist and poet Arthur Burgoyne who reported extensively on the 1892 Homestead Strike.
